Committing to healthy play practices and putting the interests of our players first takes more than just words. It takes a great deal of time, effort and care. I’ve been impressed with the steadfast commitment to healthy play and responsible gambling demonstrated by the entire team at Atlantic Lottery ever since joining the organization in 2022.

It’s our deep and long-standing commitment to healthy play that has led Atlantic Lottery to achieving some of the most respected responsible gambling accreditations available globally.

Earlier this year, we were honoured to receive the RG Check Accreditation for both our online alc.ca platform and the Red Shores locations Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I.  This is the second time we have achieved this accreditation awarded by the Responsible Gambling Council, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe and responsible gambling practices globally. The RG Check Accreditation is the most comprehensive responsible gambling accreditation program in the world and we are proud to have now held the RG Check for more than three consecutive years.

The Responsible Gambling Council is an independent non-profit organization and has been a world leader in the prevention of problem gambling for more than 35 years. The RG Check Accreditation is a rigorous and highly respected accreditation program that is changing the definition of what responsible gambling can achieve.

I would be remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity to mention that Atlantic Lottery also proudly boasts the highest level of certification available from the World Lottery Association Responsible Gaming Framework. We are exceedingly proud to have held our Level 4 – Continuous Improvement Recertification of the World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework for over 15 years, having first achieved this honour in 2010.

These accomplishments really demonstrate that we not only talk the talk when it comes to responsible gambling, we walk the walk. The same cannot be said for many of the illegal gambling websites that are operating illegally in our region. Many of these illegal websites do not offer the same level of commitment to responsible gambling in important areas such as; healthy play tool adoption, age of majority controls and player outreach.
