Record-breaking $70M jackpot has Lotto Max players dreaming big
Have you heard? The Jan. 3 Lotto Max draw jackpot will be a record-breaking $70 million — the highest ever in Canadian history.
In May 2019 we told you about changes to Lotto Max that would mean bigger jackpots and more opportunities for our players to win. A second weekly draw was added on Tuesday nights and the maximum jackpot was increased to $70 million, up from $60 million.
Since its launch in 2009, Lotto Max players from Atlantic Canada have won over $500 million, including six jackpot wins, 62 MAXMILLIONS, and numerous secondary prizes.
In 2018, history was made when a $60-million Lotto Max jackpot was shared by 31 co-workers from Newfoundland and Labrador. This was the largest prize ever awarded by Atlantic Lottery and, at the time, one of the highest amounts ever paid out in Canada. The positive impact seen not only by the 31 winners, but their communities as well, was extraordinary.
With the next Lotto Max draw taking place tonight, Friday, Jan. 3 at 11:29:59 p.m. (AT), the Atlantic Lottery team is excited about the possibility of meeting a $70-million winner.
