Three months left for $64M winner to claim Atlantic Lottery jackpot
With a new year started and spring just a few short months away, many Atlantic Canadians are dreaming of what’s to come. Offering even more reason to dream is an outstanding $64-million Lotto 6/49 prize that’s still waiting to be claimed.
On April 15, 2023, a Lotto 6/49 ticket sold in Gloucester County, N.B. was a $64-million Gold Ball Jackpot winner. To date, no one has contacted Atlantic Lottery with the winning ticket, meaning the potential winner is still somewhere out there.
Lotto 6/49 offers players the chance to win two multi-million-dollar jackpots on every $3 play. The Classic Draw offers a $5-million jackpot on every draw night, which are Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Gold Ball Draw guarantees a winning ticket every draw night, with the winner taking home either $1 million if a white ball is drawn, or the growing Gold Ball Jackpot if the gold ball is drawn. The $64-million Gold Ball Jackpot from April 15 is the largest lottery prize ever won in Atlantic Canada.
“Ensuring Atlantic Canadians receive the prizes they are entitled to is the single most important thing we do here at Atlantic Lottery,” said Molly Cormier, Atlantic Lottery director of brand and communications. “We are working hard to raise awareness in the hopes the winner will come forward to claim their prize.”
As with all draw games, the prize can be claimed up to one year after the draw date. If no one comes forward to claim the prize and the ticket does expire on April 15, 2024, the prize money will go into the unclaimed prize fund to be redistributed to players in the form of future prizes.
“It is extremely rare that major prizes like this go unclaimed but there is still plenty of time left for the winner to come forward and we are very hopeful that will happen,” Cormier said. “Giving out big prizes makes for the most exciting days here at Atlantic Lottery and our entire team is eager to meet the $64-million winner and celebrate this record win with them.”
Much like the spring weather, the expiry date of this prize is quickly approaching, and Atlantic Lottery is hopeful that raising awareness may help ensure a winner comes forward.
Anyone who believes they may have the winning ticket should contact our Customer Care Centre at 1-800-561-3942 or info@alc.ca and they will put them in contact with a representative from our Winners Team to verify how they may be able to claim their prize.
