After a long year of cancelled and postponed festivals and events, the Atlantic Lottery team was eager to hit the road to beautiful Cape Breton Island to celebrate the 2021 East Coast Music Awards in person.

Unfortunately, with COVID-19 cases once again on the rise in April, the ECMAs pivoted to hosting a virtual event in order to ensure the health and safety of all involved.

“While we all wish we could have been together in person for this year’s ECMAs, we were so pleased that the event could still be held virtually,” said Abbey MacDonald, community and sponsorship strategist for Atlantic Lottery. “It’s so important that we celebrate all the amazing artists we have here on the East Coast and we’re so pleased we were still able to do so.”

Many hard-working artists were recognized during the virtual awards gala held on June 10. Meredith Kidney, Atlantic Lottery’s head of brand and communications, had the great pleasure of presenting the ECMA for Song of the Year to Rich Aucoin for his song “Walls” (Producers: Rich Aucoin, Joel Waddell, Kevin Maher).

With another successful event now behind us, the East Coast Music Association has announced Fredericton, N.B. will host the 2022 Festival and Conference. This will mark the first time the event has been held in Fredericton since 2008.

“We’re very excited to head back to Fredericton for the 34th annual ECMAs,” said Andy McLean, CEO of the East Coast Music Association. “Known for its lively spirit, its deep roots in music and culture, and its undeniable hospitality, we’re looking forward to working with the host team in Fredericton to create a memorable and successful week for music fans, performers and the entire community.”

Atlantic Lottery has teamed up with the East Coast Music Association to giveaway an exciting 2022 ECMA experience.
