Community Partnership with hospital foundation Radiothon reaches five-year milestone
Atlantic Lottery joined forces once again with the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation in January 2023 for its annual Radiothon fundraiser for the fifth year running. The Radiothon is a 12-hour live event broadcast on two local radio stations, Q103 and New Country 96.9, to support fundraising efforts of The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.
“The opportunity to get involved with such a deserving cause is important to all of us at Atlantic Lottery. We have so many employees who are always eager and ready to help support this event,” said Patrick Daigle, Atlantic Lottery President and CEO. “Our head office is located right here in Moncton so many of our employees have been affected by The Moncton Hospital, making this cause resonate across the organization.”
Atlantic Lottery was pleased to make a $15,000 donation to the cause, in addition to having a number of employees volunteer on-site during the event. Finally, Atlantic Lottery ensured that the Radiothon was the sole focus on their social media channels for the day, helping to spread the word within the community.
“By sharing our resources, our people and our voices, we hope to expand the Radiothon’s reach and make an even stronger impression on just how important it is to contribute to this cause,” Daigle said.
Proceeds from the 2023 Radiothon be invested in advanced equipment and innovative technology for two simulation labs, where health-care providers will be able to practise and hone their essential skills. They will also help to create an endowment to support retention, recruitment and education of medical staff to help better support our region.
This year, more than $55,000 was raised during the live 12-hour event, but you can still donate. Your gift to the Radiothon can help improve the quality of care given at The Moncton Hospital by addressing gaps in hands-on learning, supporting staff to help with recruitment and retention and creating enhanced access to the best health care for this region.
If you would like to contribute to this important cause and help make these positive changes a reality, donations are still being accepted at friendsfoundation.ca.
