AL partners with United Way again this holiday season
Atlantic Lottery is a social purpose-driven organization, deeply driven to support local communities and help build a stronger region. That’s why the organization and its employees were proud to give back with United Way once again this holiday season.
Atlantic Lottery President and CEO Dallas McCready was pleased to present a cheque for $10,000 to United Ways in Atlantic Canada. The donation will be shared across all four of our provinces to help address the needs in local communities across the region.
In addition to this monetary donation, Atlantic Lottery employees eagerly pitched in to provide much needed hands-on support to a number of United Way initiatives:
- Atlantic Lottery employees in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island crafted hand-made holiday cards to accompany a holiday meal delivery to local low-income seniors through each province’s Seniors’ Meal Program. Employees channeled their creativity into making the one-of-a-kind cards personal and unique for those receiving them.
- In Nova Scotia, employees participated in United Way’s Heartfelt Connections Initiative by providing items for and preparing winter warming kits for unhoused people using shelters or community programs. Each kit included a winter hat and gloves, warm socks, handwarmers and a waterproof poncho, among a variety of other items.
- In Newfoundland and Labrador, employees worked with the local United Way to assist the Single Parent Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, one of their funded agencies, with their annual Christmas Magic Program, which provides many single-parent families with food and gifts during the holidays. Employees bundled up in their warmest clothes to pack boxes for the day in the makeshift warehouse inside a shipping container.
With Atlantic Canadians at the heart of all we do, Atlantic Lottery is proud to be a long-time community partner of United Ways across our region, and to support these organizations again this holiday season.
We are grateful to the United Ways across our four provinces for the meaningful work they do to improve the lives of Atlantic Canadians and to our employees who are always ready and eager to roll up their sleeves and get involved when presented with an opportunity to give back in our communities.
