Atlantic Lottery helps 2021 Radiothon reach record fundraising goal

For the third straight year, Atlantic Lottery signed on as Community Partner with Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation for its annual Radiothon event.

The Radiothon is an annual 12-hour live on-air event broadcasted on two local radio stations, Q103 and New Country 96.9. The day features many testimonials from patients, interviews with health-care workers and hospital staff, and information about how the money raised will improve patient care at The Moncton Hospital. Throughout the day, tally updates are announced as donations come in and the event gets closer to hitting its goal.

In this milestone year, the 10th annual Radiothon in support of The Moncton Hospital not only reached its goal, but exceeded it, bringing in just over $74,000 – the most ever raised in the history of the event.

The Radiothon is one event that resonates year after year with Atlantic Lottery employees, as our head office is located in Moncton and many have benefited either directly or indirectly from exceptional care at The Moncton Hospital. Atlantic Lottery’s community partnership provides a $25,000 donation towards the fundraising goal, but it also provides a number of Atlantic Lottery employees who each year are eager to volunteer taking phone calls, counting donations and helping in any way they can.

The success of this year’s Radiothon shows us the incredible generosity of the community we live in and demonstrates what is possible when we support one another.

This year, funds raised from the Radiothon will help to significantly advance cancer care at The Moncton Hospital, giving patients access to modern equipment for the diagnosis of lung cancer, leading to quicker treatments with improved technology, as well as creating a sunroom and garden space for patients that will inspire hope and healing. If you would like to be a part of Radiothon history and contribute to this deserving cause, donations are still being accepted at friendsfoundation.ca.
