Insights: Reflecting on 50 years of AL and the future before us
It was my great pleasure to be a recent guest on the Acadia Broadcasting podcast, Insights with Don Mills and David Campbell.
The podcast combines the experiences of economist David Campbell and social scientist Don Mills to explore the challenges and opportunities facing Atlantic Canada, promote data-driven decision making among policymakers and encourage a wider dialogue and debate leading to greater prosperity for the region.
My predecessor, Patrick Daigle, was on the Insights podcast back in February 2022, when he served as President and CEO of Atlantic Lottery. This was just around the time that I was joining the organization as Chief Strategy Officer, and Patrick’s valuable insights (see what I did there?) on the podcast were both informative and inspiring to me as I was being onboarded.
Now, having been in the role of President and CEO for more than a year, I appreciated the opportunity to follow up to Patrick’s podcast appearance, provide a number of updates and reflect on our history as we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2026. We discussed Atlantic Lottery’s long-term commitment to the people and places of Atlantic Canada, the increased competition in the industry, and the progress we’re making on our five-year strategy to advance our goal of being Atlantic Canada’s first choice for lottery and gambling, all while maintaining out commitment to healthy play and community impact.
