Chelsea Da Silva of Ellerslie-Bideford, P.E.I. and her husband took home $250,000 on MEGA 360 after spinning the big wheel, but the most interesting part of the story? The couple had only just started purchasing an occasional Scratch’N Win ticket just weeks before they won big.

“We have maybe been buying them for the last two or three weeks,” Da Silva said. “It was an overwhelming feeling once I realized what we had actually won.

MEGA 360 is the first Scratch, Watch and Spin game offered by Atlantic Lottery. The $5 game can be played as either a Scratch’N Win ticket at retail or as an Instant Win game at alc.ca. Da Silva, who works as a veterinary technician and dog groomer, said it may not be enough money to retire with, but that it sets their family up for a brighter future.

Plans for their prize money include completely renovating their old farmhouse and saving for their two children’s education.

They also hope to take their first family trip to Portugal, where Da Silva’s husband was born and raised.
