ATLANTIC WINS

Time is running out to claim $64M lottery jackpot

Less than one month now remains for a potential winner to come forward to claim an outstanding $64-million Lotto 6/49 prize in Atlantic Canada.

On April 15, 2023, a Lotto 6/49 ticket sold in Gloucester County, N.B. was a $64-million Gold Ball Jackpot winner. To date, no one with the winning ticket has contacted Atlantic Lottery, meaning the potential winner is still out there.

Lotto 6/49 offers players the chance to win two multi-million-dollar jackpots on every $3 play. The Classic Draw offers a $5-million jackpot on every draw night, which are Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Gold Ball Draw guarantees a winning ticket every draw night, with the winner taking home either $1 million if a white ball is drawn, or the growing Gold Ball Jackpot if the gold ball is drawn. The $64-million Gold Ball Jackpot from April 15 is the largest lottery prize ever won in Atlantic Canada.

“Ensuring Atlantic Canadians receive the prizes they are entitled to is the most important thing we do here at Atlantic Lottery,” said Molly Cormier, Atlantic Lottery’s director of brand and communications. “We are doing everything we can to help raise awareness that the Gold Ball jackpot prize is still outstanding and to remind players to look for any tickets they may not have checked yet.”

As with all draw games, the prize can be claimed up to one year after the draw date. If no one comes forward to claim the prize and the ticket does expire on April 15, 2024, the prize money will go into the unclaimed prize fund to be redistributed to players in the form of future prizes.

“Nearly 99% of all prizes won from Atlantic Lottery are claimed and paid out to our players each year, so it’s extremely rare that they actually do expire,” Cormier said. “In our experience, there are reasons that winners sometimes wait to come forward, however, we are urging Atlantic Canadians to look for any tickets they may not have checked as we know the winner is still out there somewhere.”

Atlantic Lottery awards thousands of prizes every day – both big and small – to Atlantic Canadians. During the 2023 fiscal year Atlantic Lottery awarded players with $440.1 million in prizes – 893 of which were $10,000 or more. The Atlantic Lottery team is eager to celebrate all our winners and is hopeful that the $64-million ticket holder will come forward to claim their prize before April 15, 2024.

Anyone who believes they may have the winning ticket should contact our Customer Care Centre at 1-800-561-3942 or info@alc.ca and they will put them in contact with a representative from our Winners Team to verify how they may be able to claim their prize.
