Healthy play has always been a core value and important consideration in everything we do at Atlantic Lottery. That’s why we’re working hard to educate our players on the facts and the tools available to help keep their plan for fun and entertainment.

We want to encourage our players to engage with our healthy play tools, many of which are available on alc.ca. That’s why this fall, we launched an exciting contest to encourage the use of our healthy play tools. Players who set their daily wager limit or session time limit on their alc.ca account were entered for a chance to win an electric scooter prize package valued at $1,500.

Atlantic Lottery recently launched a tool called the PlayWise Rating dashboard. This tool provides players with a risk-rating based on their play on alc.ca as well as access to actual play data like total deposits, wins and losses, time spent on the site and more. Players can also access tools to help manage their time and money spent on alc.ca, like the daily wager limit and session time limit.

The Daily Wager Limit allows players to choose the maximum amount they are willing to spend each day, and the tool will stop them from playing any further once they reach that amount, which includes both deposits and winnings. Players can change their limit amount at any time. Changing to a higher value will take effect in 24 hours while changing to a lower value takes effect immediately.

The Session Time Limit allows players to choose the maximum amount of time they want to spend on alc.ca for each session, and the tool will stop them from playing on alc.ca once they reach the time limit set. Players can change the time limit anytime. Just like with the daily wager limit, changing to a higher value will take effect in 24 hours while changing to a lower value will take effect immediately.

More Atlantic Canadians using online healthy play tools than ever before

Rewarding positive play with a prize dedicated to healthy play was an innovative initiative for Atlantic Lottery with a truly successful result. During the contest, we saw a 27 per cent increase in voluntary healthy play limits set on alc.ca.

There were many entries in the contest, but ultimately, Jordan Meadus of St. John’s, N.L. was the winner of the electric scooter prize package. Building on the success of this recent contest, Atlantic Lottery plans to continue supporting positive play and already has another on the horizon.

From Nov. 21-28, 2023, we are encouraging players to take a coffee break on us! Players can set their daily wager limit and/or session time limit for a chance to win one of five Nespresso Vertuo coffee machines with an Aeroccino milk frother.

Players will be able to see their contest entries posted on their 2Chance account history within 72 hours of the contest closing on Nov. 28. The draw for the five prizes will take place on Dec. 5 or as soon as possible thereafter.
