Community Proud

Finding connection through community support

Supporting our local communities is exactly why Atlantic Lottery exists. As President and CEO, I am immensely proud of the way our organization gives back to help build a stronger region.
It’s been a tough couple of years for community organizations and Atlantic Canadian residents with the COVID-19 pandemic and related shutdowns. I could not be more thrilled that things are opening back up and that we will be back to sponsoring a great number of community festivals and events this year.

Up until the pandemic began, Atlantic Lottery sponsored more than 100 festivals and community events every year. However, nearly all festivals and events over the last two years were cancelled or postponed to ensure the safety of our residents. While we found ways to still support our communities and local organizations through the Community Proud contest and charitable contributions, we are so excited to get back into the swing of things this summer. Not only does it provide us the opportunity to support amazing events, community organizations and causes, but it also gives us the opportunity to connect with you, our fellow Atlantic Canadians.

A lot of the community festivals and events we support take place in the summer, but today I want to highlight one in particular that actually takes place in February. That event is the Canada Winter Games that will be held in Prince Edward Island in 2023.

Atlantic Lottery is a gaming company, so naturally, we feel very passionate about sports and games. We also feel very passionate about this amazing region we call home and the people we live here with.

So, it was a natural fit for us to take on the role as lead sponsor of Volunteer Program, where we will have the opportunity to connect with a great deal of Atlantic Canadians who share those passions with us.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Canada Games, and it takes thousands of people working together to plan and support all the athletic and cultural events that make up the Games. If you are interested in being a part of this historic event and sharing Prince Edward Island with the rest of the country, I would encourage you to sign up for the volunteer program here. We would love to have you on board to share this experience with us.

However, as I mentioned before, we have a full roster of festivals and events to celebrate this year. So, whether or not the Winter Games are your thing, or you just want to get out and celebrate Atlantic Canadian culture sooner than later, check out the full list of festivals and events we will be supporting this year. Our team will be on site at many of these events with fun activations, prizes and even a mobile kiosk where players can make their lottery purchases.

We’ve worked hard to stay connected with our communities over the last couple of years throughout these difficult times. However, nothing beats the feeling of personal connection and we can hardly wait to see so many of you in person soon.
