Cycling for Change: Ride for Cancer raises money to improve cancer care in Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Canada’s largest cycling fundraising event, Ride for Cancer, is an annual event where hundreds of riders come together for the common goal to improve cancer care for Atlantic Canadians.

All proceeds raised from the Ride for Cancer event this year will help to bring a world-class procedure to the QEII Hospital in Halifax that ensures some early-stage breast cancer patients will spend less time in radiotherapy. This amazing procedure can reduce the number of treatments required from 30 to only one.

Atlantic Lottery was thrilled to sign on as a sponsor to support this important event in an effort to help raise funds and lend a helping hand. In addition to the team of volunteers at this event and various on-site activations, there will be two teams of cyclists from AL participating as well. Chris Keevill, Atlantic Lottery’s President and CEO, will also be joining in the fun and riding with the ALC Jackpot Riders team.

To date, $2.6 million has been raised for cancer care in Atlantic Canada through the Ride for Cancer fundraiser since 2015. This year, the ride community is on a mission to raise $1 million for this worthy cause. You can help by donating, entering a team or even just spreading the word. Information on how to do all of this can be found at www.yourrideforcancer.ca.

The event will take place on Oct. 3, 2020. Follow Atlantic Lottery on Facebook to get live updates from the event site all day long.
