AL once again receives global recognition for healthy play programs and practices
Atlantic Lottery is thrilled to have received our Level 4 – Continuous Improvement Recertification of the World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework.
This is the highest level of certification available under the WLA framework, which Atlantic Lottery has now held since 2010. This recertification speaks to AL’s commitment to responsible gambling and offering our players some of the best programs and practices in the world. It demonstrates that healthy play is held to a high standard across the organization, making it a consideration in everything we do.
To maintain Level 4 certification, organizations are required to recertify every three years and have the submission externally audited. This validates that Atlantic Lottery is not just talking the talk, but walking the walk. The final phase of the recertification process is to have the submission reviewed by the WLA Independent Assessment Panel, which determines if recertification is warranted.
What the WLA panel said about AL’s submission
- “You have a comprehensive and well-structured research program in place. The research studies are professionally conducted, and the findings are semantically analysed. The research program has provided good insights into the progress of your RG initiatives and the effectiveness of your RG efforts.”
- “You have implemented a suite of conventional interventions for player protection, such as age-checking, play limits, self-exclusion, and alert messages on your online platform, video lottery machines, self-service machines at retail outlets and at the casinos. The introduction of the PlayWise Rating for individual players to understand their gambling behaviour and potential risks is a good initiative.”
- “You have developed a solid framework for the development of your player education program. The program is well-structured and comprehensive, and you have implemented many effective initiatives to promote RG messages and awareness prominently at all customer touch points.”
A real team effort
Preparing for this recertification was a team effort, requiring many hands across the organization and countless hours to prepare the submission. In fact, healthy play is a corporate focus for Atlantic Lottery, and even when there are no submissions being prepared, it is always a key consideration. It takes everyone across our organization to ensure we are continuously evolving our healthy play programs and practices and this will remain a top priority for all of our teams.
