AL Community Festivals and Events Program accepting applications
Atlantic Lottery proudly sponsors more than 100 community festivals and events every year. Why? They bring the community together to help celebrate all the things that make our region so unique.
Events supported by our Community Festivals and Events Program fall under a wide range of categories. The program is intended to be grassroots and support communities where friends, families and neighbours can come together to enjoy a special event held in their region.
“What we do with this program allows us to help bring communities together, creating an experience for so many to enjoy,” said Abbey MacDonald, program manager of sponsorship at Atlantic Lottery. “The impact is evident when we speak to organizers and we often hear how their events bring the community to life.”
The goal of this program is to support events that reach every corner of Atlantic Canada each year. That’s where you come in!
Do you have a community-focused festival or event in Atlantic Canada that needs support? We accept applications for support all year long, however, for events held between January 1 and April 30, applications must be submitted no later than November 15.
With this date quickly approaching, we encourage all organizations with a community festival or event to apply.
Not sure if your event is a fit for the program? Complete details and funding restrictions can be found on the application page. However, here are just a few examples of the wide-ranging of events that we are proud to support across Atlantic Canada:
- NB: Festival Western and Cape Tormentine Beach Music Festival
- NL: St. John’s African Roots Festival (SARFest) and Herring Neck Dory Festival
- NS: Halifax Pride Festival and South Shore Exhibition
- PEI: DiverseCity Festival and Festival Bluegrass Évangéline
“This program is a real point of pride for us at Atlantic Lottery,” MacDonald said. “It allows us to make a real impact on local communities and our fellow Atlantic Canadians.”
More information and the application form can be found here: www.alc.ca/sponsorships. All applicants will be advised of the status of their request no later than December 1.
